Burnin' Nog - A spicy take on eggnog
Okay, so this is not technically a “nog” recipe; it’s actually a milk punch. But
that just means that it’s easier to make and healthier to drink, so that fire in
your belly won’t just be holiday heartburn.
Our one-of-a-kind Burnin’ Bog sauce brings some cranberry tartness and
light floral notes to the party, while its bouquet of baking spices bolsters the
traditional seasonings of spiced milk punch, extending that sweet, warming
burn a little bit longer.
Ingredients (per serving)
- 1 cup milk (any type)
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- ½ a teaspoon of Burnin’ Bog
- 1 cinnamon stick
- A pinch of whole cloves
- A dash of ground nutmeg
- Whipped cream for topping
- 1 oz whiskey, brandy, or spirit of choice (optional)
- Aji Punch is also a great alternative if Burnin' Bog is too spicy for you!
Directions
1. In a medium-sized pot over medium heat, whisk together the milk,
maple syrup, Burnin’ Bog, and nutmeg, and add the cinnamon stick
and cloves. Stir occasionally.
2. As soon as the milk begins to boil, cover the pot, remove it from heat,
and allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
3. Ladle into a cup, with or without booze. To drink it cold, let it cool to
room temperature and then shake together with ice in a cocktail
shaker or refrigerate overnight. Top with whipped cream and enjoy the
sweet flame of yuletide.
