UML Partners with Lowell-Based Company for Special Edition Hot Sauce -UMassLowell

UMass Lowell has partnered with Lowell-based Craic Sauce to produce a special edition hot sauce, Mill City Red, using locally grown peppers cultivated on campus. Led by Craic Sauce founder Brian Ruhlmann and supported by UML students from the Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy, the project spanned from seed planting in the university's greenhouse to harvesting on the rooftop garden at O'Leary Library. The collaboration emphasizes community engagement and sustainable practices, resulting in a medium-heat hot sauce now available for purchase and featured in Lowell dining establishments.
